1) Count Fleet – Three complete NYT newspapers for each of the Triple Crown races (May 2, 9 and June 6, 1943). They are in superb condition, being original rag editions. From 1927-1953 the Times attempted to preserve certain newspapers for prosperity. They printed certain editions on high quality paper known as rags, consisting of a high percentage of cotton & linen allowing the issue to remain very white and sturdy. 2) War Admiral – two complete editions: a) May 9, 1937 Courier-Journal (Ky. Derby). b) NYT, May 16, 1937 (Preakness). 3) Whirlaway – two complete editions: a.) The Louisville Times, May 3, 1941 winning the Derby. b.) May 11, 1941 winning the Preakness. 4) Morning Telegraph complete newspapers: a) Kelso October 2, 1965 starting in the Woodward & Tom Rolfe in the “Arc de Triomphe” won by Sea Bird. b) Damascus winning the Woodward over Buckpasser & Dr. Fager October 2, 1967. 5) Daily Racing Forms: a) Bull Lea wins Blue Grass 4/29/1938. b) Seabiscuit favored in the San Juan Capistrano 3/6/1937. c) Tom Fool – four issues: November 1, 1952, heads Westchester Cap, June 29, 1953, equals track record in Carter, August 5, 1953, eight length winner of the Wilson at Saratoga and May 25, 1953, Takes the Metropolitan (also Preakness Fans pack Pimlico – see E. below (not used again). d) Count Fleet – two issues: September 24, 1942, to be tested in Morello today and October 3, 1942, in the Futurity today. e) Native Dancer – 3 issues: April 6, 1953, preparation for first start of 1953, April 25, 1953, unbeaten record on line in Wood Memorial and May 22, 1953, 6 oppose ND in Preakness. Although all issues are complete, the items excluding the Daily Racing Forms are extremely rare, valuable, clean, and in great condition, NRMT-MT. The DRF’s, while rare and sought after, their condition is EX-EX+ and better
