Fantastic Rock Collection from Top Record Exec
Wonderful group of stuff came from a top 1970s record executive. 1) Massive collection of 51 Family Dog posters. Most of the top bands of the psychedelic era are here including a ton of Janis Joplin. There are a couple of scarcities like #63 & 67. The greatest artists are here, from Mouse to Rick Griffin. Ranging from 1st to 3rd printings, a few are poor but o/w in overall VG condition. 2) Boz Scaggs Silk Degrees Gold Record Award. Vintage floater presented to the exec for this breakthrough record of Steve Miller’s old counterpart. Slightly faded label and some scratching to frame. 3) Three unusual publications: The Biggest Show of Stars for ’57 program (EX+), rare Stax 1960s yearbook featuring all their stars including Otis Redding (EX-MT), and 1964 James Brown Story tour program (NRMT). 4) Nice lot of 8 Bruce Springsteen original release vinyl promo records: Darkness, two different Dancing in the Dark, The River, Born To Run, Brilliant Disguise, Born in the USA EP and Live 1975-85 EP. Overall EX-MT. 5) 1974 Bruce Springsteen “Lone Star Comes Back To Texas” Poster. Scarce site poster shows a bearded Bruce and his first two albums. Slightly faded o/w EX (overall 26x18” w/frame). 6) Bruce Springsteen “Roxy” Poster. A classic Bruce poster with perhaps his greatest graphics ever. From their classic 1975 Roxy shows in Los Angeles. 31x42” and NRMT. 7) Lot of 83 Rolling Stone magazines with #1. Includes a complete run from #1-20. Plus, various issues ranging from #21-129. Overall very good. Lots of great reading.
