First Yankees World Championship
1923 was the first year that the New York Yankees ever won a World Championship. In this 6 1/2 x 8 1/2" press photograph dated 10/16/23, Walter Johnson, Aaron Ward, Fred Hoffman, Babe Ruth, Miller Huggins, Sam Jones, Walter Meusel and Herb Pennock are shown signing for their World Series checks. Photo has some creasing and chipping to the right corners and a small crease at the upper left corner, otherwise it is VG with the original paper caption on the verso.
