"Free Paul" Japanese Marijuana Pin
In 1980, Japanese immigration officials lifted a significant bag of marijuana out of the luggage of Beatles legend and then-Wings frontman Paul McCartney as he passed through Tokyo International Airport. Paul was quickly tossed in jail and faced up to eight years in prison. This pin was created in support of Paul during his harrowing experience, and features a b&w photo of Paul's face on a white background with the text "Free Paul" above his head, and a green marijuana leaf on his shirt collar. Japanese kanji characters flank his face on both sides. The edge is printed with a copyright for "Tokyo, Ltd." NRMT.
