George Kell Handwritten 2-Page Letter on Tigers Letterhead with Great Content

This letter which is dated August 20 and dates from some time in the mid 1990's, describes the former player and decades long broadcaster for the Tiger's need to retire and move back to his home in Arkansas. The letter was written to a colleague by the name of Furman and outlines in detail that due to family obligations and investments he had to leave a job, which he loved so much, to return to his native state. The 2-page letter is written in blue ball point ink and is clearly legible, with bold penmanship and clean paper quality. There is no damage to the paper which is devoid of wrinkles or tears except for the two minor fold lines, evidence of the letter having been mailed. George Kell played a huge role in professional baseball both in his playing career but also in his broadcasting career which spanned 4 decades.
