George "Shotgun" Shuba's 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers National League Championship Ring

George "Shotgun" Shuba's 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers National League Championship Ring

Even rarer than a 1955 Dodgers ring but without quite the same impact, this 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers N.L. Championship ring belonged to George "Shotgun" Shuba and is all original. Cast in 14K yellow gold, this size 10-1/2 ring reads "National League Champions" done in gold letters in relief around the top perimeter. In the center is set a blue stone (slight chip) and four smaller stones atop a baseball diamond. On both identical shanks in gold letters is the year "1953" in relief surrounded by laurel leaves. Below this is a rendition of Ebbets Field in relief, below which is a banner with "Dodgers" in script relief atop two crossed bats with baseball. On the inside of the ring is engraved in script "George Shuba, with "Balfour" and "14K" stamped in. Shuba liked this ring and wore it, but it is still in EX-MT condition.
