George Sisler by Charles Conlon
George Sisler's first baseman's mitt in this vivid circa 1920 photo was not just for show. The St. Louis Browns legend really could dig out balls, fielding the position with unsurpassed grace. Of course it helped to have the renowned photographer Charles M. Conlon snapping the picture. Conlon's imprimatur is stamped on the back, joined by his handwritten identification of Sisler along with the "St. Louis Am" designation. Overall NRMT this 6.5x8.5" brings to any collector pure greatness. Of course, Sisler could bat, too, surpassing .400 twice and hitting safely in 41 straight games.
