Gionfriddo Catch v. DiMaggio in 1947 World Series Original Negatives (9)
One of the most famous catches in World Series history, right up there with "The Catch" by Willie Mays in 1954. There some very important negatives here: 1) All important neg of Gionfriddo making the catch (he leaps he gets it!) while a full out running DiMaggio approaches second base in frustration. 2) Jackie Robinson and teammates congratulate Gio as he returns to the dugout.
