Hall Of Fame Class Of 1936 Signed Check Display (26x20")
In 1936, the Baseball Hall of Fame inducted its first four members. The short list of inductees consisted of Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, and Christy Mathewson. Presented is a magnificent display piece which pays tribute to the inaugural class. The framed masterpiece consists of a signed bank check from each member of the group, matted below a gum card (unsigned). The only exception is Christy Mathewson for whom a facsimile signature has been included in the display. The four checks are in Near Mint, or better, condition with bold ink signatures. The gum cards average Very Good to Excellent (VG-EX) condition, with the Ruth card being a reprint. Overall, an aesthetically pleasing display, which could easily serve as the center piece of any fine Hall of Fame or baseball autograph collection.
