Hank Aaron 714th Home Run Game Used Signed Baseball and Signed Scorebook
A lucky Ohio sportswriter named Tom McRoberts made Hank Aaron's record-tying 714th homer a personal achievement of his own when he got Bad Henry's signature both on a ball used in the game immediately afterward as well as on the scorecard on which he charted the game. The ONL (Feeney) ball, stamped with "Cowhide Baseball, First Use 4-4-74, Cincinnati vs. Atlanta", was signed in the Riverfront clubhouse, "Best wishes, Hank Aaron" in black ink, a signature now a tad faded but a good 7/10. Ball itself is a gem, lightly and smoothly toned. Aaron also signed the scorecard in black ink, grading a 9. Elsewhere in the scorebook are some classic signatures from a '74 Old Timer's Day at Riverfront, including Johnny Mize, Mickey Vernon, Waite Hoyt, Harvey Haddix, Johnny Vandermeer, Don Larsen, Carl Erskine, Harvey Kuenn, etc. These signatures are 8s and 9s. Scorecard is NRMT w/a few nicks on the red covers. LOA for both items from McRoberts.
