Hank Aaron "755 & 3,771" Signed Inscribed Stat Baseball (PSA)

Hank Aaron "755 & 3,771" Signed Inscribed Stat Baseball (PSA)

Displayed is a real treat for collectors: A Hank Aaron signed and inscribed stat ball. Aaron played 23 seasons in the Major Leagues, the first 21 years (1954-76) with the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves and his final two seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers. The Official Major League Baseball (Selig) not only has Hall of Famer Aaron's big and bold signature on the sweet spot, but Aaron has also inscribed the ball with "755" and "3,771." The "755" is for his all-time home run total, a total that surpassed Babe Ruth's career record of 714 by 41 home runs, that lasted until broken 31 years later by Barry Bonds, when the San Francisco Giant slugger homered to center field in a home game at AT&T Park The "3,771" is for Aaron's lifetime Major League hit total. "Hammerin' Hank" broke Babe Ruth's career home run record of 714 when Aaron, as an Atlanta Brave, homered off Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Al Downing at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium in the 4th inning on April 8, 1976. Aaron extended the then all-time homer record to 755 when he homered on July 20, 1976, when he hit his final career home run off Dick Drago of the California Angels at Milwaukee County Stadium as a Milwaukee Brewer. The "3,771" stat is for Aaron's final Major League hit, which took place on Oct. 3, 1976, in a game at Milwaukee against the Detroit Tigers. After grounding out in his first two at-bats of the game, Aaron had an infield single that scored Charlie Moore and extended Aaron's all-time Major League RBI record to 2,297, a record Aaron still holds. The ball is in Excellent condition. The "755" and "3,771" inscriptions are made on panels that are just adjacent to the sweet spot Aaron signature. The ball comes with a PSA Letter of Authenticity. It is quite a prize for any collector, as Aaron remains the undisputed Major League RBI king, and because of the cloud of suspected steroid use by other sluggers, Aaron is also, in the hearts of many, the real all-time Homer King, "The People's Home Run King." Comes with PSA LOA.
