Harry Heilmann Signed Check To Heine Manush

Harry Heilmann Signed Check To Heine Manush

Harry Heilmann, the 1934 AL MVP and member of the HOF, won four batting titles between 1921 and '27 with averages of .394, .403, .393, and .398; he came within a mere nine hits of hitting .400 each year. Heine Manush, another member of the Hall, was a hitting machine, consistently ranked among the game's top batters, whose 17 year career ended with a .330 batting average. In the 1920s the two became friends as Harry played right field and Heine stood in left for the Detroit Tigers. It was a bond that would last until Heilmann's dying day. Offered is a very rare check dated January 15, 1950 written by and signed by Heilmann (black fountain pen)and endorsed by its receiver, Heine Manush (blue fountain pen) on the reverse. Both autographs are bold and fluent, with Heilmann's appearing a bit bolder (9/10) than that of his teammate (8/10). Check with official bank stampings, otherwise EX-MT.
