Helmut Balderis Early 1980's World Championship CCCP Game Used Jersey
The artful Russian forward Helmut Balderis proudly wore this jersey during the 1982 World Chamionships. The well-preserved CCCP emblazoned across the chest evokes a time when playing the Russians meant the world was at stake, not just a hockey match. The red diamond design on the bottom displays the cracks of a sports empire on the decline. One can only imagine the juicy story behind the blood stain on Balderis' right sleeve. This jersey was made for use in North America only, as it has all English lettering.
