Hiram Bithorn Original Negative by George Burke
Hiram Bithorn was a right-handed pitcher who became the first Puerto Rican baseball player to play in the majors. Bithorn played for the Cubs and later the Chicago White Sox. This negative is from a photograph taken by Chicago photographer George Burke, who shot many of the images used to make the 1933-1935 Goudey baseball cards and was an official photographer for the Chicago Cubs, White Sox and NFL’s Bears. This negative is in EX condition with slight discoloration around the edges.
