Historic 1970 Herve Filion Race Worn Helmet from Inaugural World Driving Championship

Historic 1970 Herve Filion Race Worn Helmet from Inaugural World Driving Championship

This historic helmet was worn by Herve Filion in the first ever World Driving Championship for Harness Racing, which was held in 1970. Sourced directly from the great harness driver himself, it shows excellent use from Filion's historic Championship victory, in which he won the title representing Canada. The sides of the helmet read "Herve Filion" and front reads "1970 World Championship, Canada" on this size 6 7/8 helmet. We are also including a copy of Trot Magazine showing the helmet, as it was acquired by a long-time serious horse racing collector. The World Driving Championship is still held biannually and, in fact, Herve's nephew Sylvain captured the crown in 1999.
