Historic Don Larsen Perfect Game Original Negatives (30)
Yes this is it. This is the photographic negative of the incessantly published image of Yogi Berra jumping into the arms of hurler Don Larsen after he pitched his perfect game in the 1956 World Series. This is the neg that appeared on the cover of the New York Daily News. Measuring 2.25” it even has the original publisher’s marks where it was blocked off for publication. There are a total of 30 negatives here from the game including: Pee Wee Reese leaping out of the way after getting Enos Slaughter at second, series of Campy and Jackie Robinson hanging up Bauer off third, Reese leaping for McDougal liner, Snider making big play, Andy Carey making a big defensive play to save the no-hitter, and Mickey Mantle making backhanded garb of Gil Hodges’ drive in the 5th to keep the no-hitter going. Seven of the articles from the Daily News coverage the next day are also included. All are 2.25” except for the Reese play which is 5x7”.
