Historic San Francisco Seals WHL Wire Photo Collection (206)
From the archives of the San Francisco Examiner, we present a treasure collection of WHL hockey photos that features the San Francisco Seals and their opponents from 1961-67. Most of this large collection of 206 pieces measure 9X12 1/2". The images are amazing, capturing Ice Hockey the way it was played then. No helmets, no mouthguards, no TEETH! Goalies in Michael Myers masks and bench clearing riots. The parade of vintage hockey sweaters worn by the Gulls, Blades and the Totems to name a few. Many players in this collection went on to play in the NHL, Willie O'Ree, Tim Horton ,Gary Dornhoffer etc. This archive has not seen the light of day in 40 years. Professional sports photography at its finest!!!!
