Hockey Hall of Famers Signed Photo w/Gordie Howe

Hockey Hall of Famers Signed Photo w/Gordie Howe

Offered is an amazing 1950s "old-time" hockey oversized signed photo from a Detroit Red Wings versus New York Rangers' game that that includes accompanying signatures of four Hall of Famers depicted in the photo: Detroit's Gordie Howe and Ted Lindsey and New York's Gump Worsley and Bill Gadsby. The black and white photo is mounted on board, and it measures 15.5x19.5". "Mr. Hockey" was his nickname, and Gordie Howe played a record 26 seasons in the NHL, all but one season with the Red Wings. The right wing also added six seasons in the World Hockey Association. In the NHL, Howe scored 801 goals and added 1,049 assists for 1,859 total points, and all three of the aforementioned tallies were NHL records until broken by Wayne Gretzky. Howe's six WHA seasons produced 174 goals, 334 assists and 508 points, which gave him 2,358 points between the NHL and the WHA. Howe won four Stanley Cups and two WHA Championships, and he was a 6-time winner of both the Hart and Ross Trophy. Howe was a combination of a highly skilled and very physical player, and this unusual pairing gave the hockey world the saying of a "Gordie Howe hat trick": A goal, an assist and a fight. Howe's linemate on the Red Wings was often "Terrible Ted" Lindsey. He played left wing and was another skillful Detroit star who could play rough. He had over 100 penalty minutes in ten different seasons. Lindsey played 17 NHL seasons, all but three with Detroit. He helped the Red Wings to four Stanley Cups and won the Ross Trophy in 1958-59. Lindsey, Howe and Sid Abel made up the famous Detroit "Production Line." John "Gump" Worsley was a goalie for 21 NHL seasons, most notably for the New York Rangers and the Montreal Canadiens. He was a 2-time Vezina Trophy winner and was a part of four Stanley Cup Champions. Bill Gadsby was a defenseman in the NHL for 21 seasons, for the Chicago Black Hawks, New York Rangers, and Detroit Red Wings. He was a star on both defense and offense, and he finished his NHL career with 130 goals, 438 assists and 568 points. The signatures have been signed with a marker or pen, and they rate 8/10. Overall, the signed photo is in excellent condition, and the amazingly clear action photo and the Hall of Fame signatures make this a vintage find.
