HOF Baseball Letter Collection (3)
<p>Nice hand signed letter collection featuring three Hall of Famers.</p><p>1) Hand signed letter from Albert Chandler to John Zeller on "BASEBALL" letterhead. Chandler in inviting Zeller to a baseball function that he is holding for the Major League owners. "cocktails which will be served at six o'clock. I am anxious for you to be present."</p><p>2) Hand signed letter from William Terry to Walter Briggs in "Giants" letterhead. In this letter his is expressing his desire to schedule a day to play the Tigers in Lakeland Florida during spring training. "It is understood that the visiting club is to receive Fifty Per Cent (50%) of the gate receipts after deduction of taxes."</p><p>3) Hand written letter from Earl Averill to Jack Zeller. In this note, Averill mentions that he's, "Having a little trouble with my 1939 income tax" and would like clarification on what some previous contacts say specifically. On the bottom of the note, the information he requested was written in and then returned. </p>
