The T206 Honus Wagner of Honus Wagner signed photos. A cheery faced and robustly plump Honus Wagner is posed with two of his burly brethren in the normal hustle and bustle of downtown Pittsburgh during the 1940s. These three wise (and wide) men have temporarily interrupted their lunch to enjoy a day outside for a unique high caloric photo opportunity (and they didn’t need a panoramic camera). With wind blowing (note Honus’ tie) but not enough to blow them over (there are no typhoons in Pittsburgh) these jolly souls join hands and bellies in amazing display of bulging brotherhood. Not calling the kettle black, Honus has signed it “3 Fat Men J. Honus Wagner” in a flurry of astutely creative penmanship made possible by only his chubby-wubby hand. There are two words previous to the “3 Fat Men” inscription, reading something akin to “Purzel Bunk.” This could be the name of the man with the luncheonette counter chef’s hat or their favorite brand of scrapple. NRMT with original removable mount, photo itself is 5x7”. Nevertheless, this is a photo to be honored, cherished, and kept by the bathroom scale.
