1) Written on P. Lorillard & Co. stationery, are nine letterhead pages, three envelopes, and a three-page letter. All between 1884 and 1886, they prominently feature General Agent, F. Gray Griswold. Involved in racing, he frequently attended in his four-in-hand carriage. 2) The American Stud Book Certificate of Record for the mare Her Highness, foaled in 1887. Hand-signed by J. B. Haggin, a major owner and breeder in the sport. Her Highness won the Monmouth Oaks in 1890. 3) Three letters from the Scoggan Brothers (won the 1884 Ky. Derby with Buchanan). In addition to Buchanan, famous horses Bramble and Leamington are mentioned. 4) August Belmont 1912 letter regarding land owned by the Westchester Racing Association. 5) Letter from Dell Hancock of Claiborne enclosing an oversized picture of Spectacular Bid for Christmas (included). 6) An important 1943 letter from William Woodward to chairman of the NY Racing Commission in support of not having any public record for denying a license to a jockey.
