Important 1944 Otto Graham First Draft Choice Letter

Important 1944 Otto Graham First Draft Choice Letter

Very important letter set the wheels in motion for the Pro Football career of the man that many say is the best quarterback of all-time. Typed letter from the Detroit Lions is dated May 2, 1944 and was sent to Otto Graham at Northwestern University. It informs Otto that he has been selected by the Detroit Lions and that he should contact them so that they can make him an offer. Signed by Lions athletic director, Gus Dorais and comes with the original mailing envelope. As we now know, the Lions attempt to sign Otto was futile as Paul Brown made him a very attractive offer that was accepted. The rest is history. Letter is EX-MT but for typical mailing folds.
