Incredible 1937-1986 Washington Redskins 50th Anniversary RFK Stadium Sign
Even though politically incorrect, the supporters of this team, conspicuously located in our nation's capital, refuse to change the name and logo. It symbolizes a bygone era and a giant in sport's history, defining both football and popular culture. This sign is large enough that the viewer can't help but have an emotive reaction, but is not too large as many of these displays designed for stadiums often are. It measures 49x55" approximately, and is made from double layer pressed wood. It contains hand-painted, commercially-created stadium art, with a figural image of the Indian symbol which was interestingly, approved by the Native American leaders circa 1971. This amazing figural display was in the stadium for just one year, thus, it was able to stand the test of time. The imagery of the logo has dimension, it is raised in three colors red, orange and white. A few of the letters have been replaced, otherwise 100% original and the overall condition of the sign is EX-MT.
