James Naismith Hand Drawn Basketball Play, Signature, and Portrait

James Naismith Hand Drawn Basketball Play, Signature, and Portrait

Wow! An actual play created by the inventor of the game, Dr. Naismith. Even in the Naismith family archives there were not many of these. Most likely done while he was coaching the University of Kansas team, this carries some serious historical weight. It is hand drawn in black ink on a plain page with three punch holes on the right side. Overall the drawing and paper is EX. The play sheet is accompanied by a pencil signature rating 8/10 cut from a legal document and 1930’s printed portrait by artist Ed Elbel. The portrait has a very small piece missing from the lower left hand corner that would not be seen if the portrait was framed.
