Jim Jacobs Autographed Letter Collection
Jim Jacobs was best known as the co-manager of former heavyweight Champion Mike Tyson along with Bill Cayton. What few people in the main stream realize is that Jacobs was also a 22-time U.S. four- wall handball champion and was considered by experts to be "The Babe Ruth" of that sport. Jacobs along with Bill Cayton also managed triple champion Wifredo Benitez and former lightweight champion, Edwin Rosario. A noted Boxing historian, he along with Cayton, owned over 17,000 fight films dating back to the late 1800's. This lot of 24 letters (22 signed by Jim Jacobs) was compiled by a fight film collector who corresponded with Jacobs from 1970-1980. Six (6) of the letters are signed "Jim Jacobs" in blue or black ball point ink. Sixteen of the letters are signed "Jim" in blue, black or green ball point ink. All signatures rate 9 of 10.
