Jim Jeffries Playing Cards in Original Box
Five years after he had retired, former Heavyweight Champ James Jeffries was featured in this 1909 playing card set, which is offered here, complete with all 54 cards housed in their original sleeve, but with no cover. Each card has James Jeffries on the back and a period fighter on the front. Fighters pictured include Abe Attell, Owen Moran, Robert Fitzsimmons, Stanley Ketchel and many more. Cards show some wear with light fading. None are creased and there are golden edges to add another level of class. This set is not often seen completed and few would be in better condition, rating VG-EX overall. A year after this deck was manufactured, Jeffries came out of retirement and attempted a comeback, but alas, it was not in the "cards" as he was knocked out in the 15th round.
