Joe DiMaggio Oakland A's Jacket
Baseball running through his veins, DiMaggio found it difficult to stay away from the field even after his retirement from the Yankees. A few short years after he returned to his home state he found himself once again at the stadium, though this time as a member of the Athletics’ Board of Directors. Even if he was a suit and tie guy at this point that didn't prevent him from taking the field once and a while and it certainly didn't stop young prospects from seeking out his advice. It was while doling out tips on hitting and fielding to this eager audience that he donned this green satin player's jacket. Customized with his legendary number "5" above the cuff of the left sleeve and sewn with Oakland's "A's" logo on the left breast, with a collar is tagged from Wilson ([size] "46" flag tag). One of the very few non-Yankees affiliated items to ever surface, this rare garment exhibits nice use though remains in excellent display condition. Ex-Dick Dobbins Collection.
