Set of three New York City handbills from 1958 and 1960 announced some of the most important jazz & blues legends in music history: 1. Sunday July 31, 1960 at the Apollo - “one whole week of the very best in jazz”, with Miles Davis & Thelonius Monk. 2. Friday November 14, 1958 at the Apollo with “America’s ace trumpet star”, Dizzie Gillespie and “the great Ethel Waters” (the first black superstar in the industry during the 1920’s).
