Johnny Evers Signed Book
Johnny Evers, the shining star of the famous infield trio immortalized by Franklin P. Adams poem wrote this book entitled, Touching Second, in conjunction with sports writer, Hugh Fullerton (copyrighted 1910). It is widely regarded as one of the finest baseball books to come out of the Deadball Era. Thoughtfully inscribed on the front free endpaper, “No. 21 [indicating this was the 21st book signed] World Series Special - Regards, Johnny Evers” in black fountain pen. Ink is only slightly faded, and grades “8” out of a possible 10. First edition boasts the colorful pasted-on cover (EX). Contents are EX-MT, slightly toned.
