Johnny Longden's Personal Hall of Fame Scrapbook (57lbs.)

Johnny Longden's Personal Hall of Fame Scrapbook (57lbs.)

Possibly the heaviest scrapbook in history, this substantial tome weighs in at 57 pounds with a mass of over 500 total pages. It was compiled by Hall of Fame jockey Johnny Longden, who rode to greatness aboard the likes of Whirlaway and Count Fleet. The scrapbook consists of mostly articles, with a couple of comic sketches and sprinkled with few tickets, autographs, Type I photos, congratulatory telegrams, 15+ programs, magazine covers, article cutouts from milestones, and more. As a matter of racing history and trivia, Longden remains the only person to win the Kentucky Derby as both a jockey and a trainer, accomplishing the feat with Majestic Prince in 1969.
