Juan Gonzalez Game Used Autographed Bat (Late 1980s) (35")
Perhaps the most developed player to come from Puerto Rico since Roberto Clemente, Juan-Gon signed with the Rangers at age 16. He wielded this cudgel of a bat during the late 1980s as he pushed toward his big league debut in September 1989, and perhaps after he arrived as well. Blonde Cooper Pro 100 personal model would seem to be a minor league bat but it wasn't until 1991 that big league team names began to appear on bats. Gonzalez added his real signature in black marker to the facsimile one on the shaft, rating an 8/10. Bat has a host of distinct ball marks on the meat and a tri-color strip of tape around the midpoint. Great early lumber from a future HOFer whose clubbed nearly 500 HRs with bats like this.
