Julie Krone US Equestrian Used Saddle

Julie Krone US Equestrian Used Saddle

The first and ONLY female jockey ever to win a Triple Crown race, Julie Krone achieved national recognition when she rode Colonial Affair to the Belmont Stakes title in 1993. Six years after breaking that barrier, the National Women's Hall of Famer wore this exceptionally well-worn saddle, which bears her name, "Krone," on side. Affixed is a tag stating "Cancun Return 6/2/99." Standing just 4-10, Krone has retired from competitive riding but still lends her expertise to racing broadcasts. Due to her perseverance despite a host of racing injuries, she was awarded the Wilma Rudolph Courage Award by the Women's Sports Foundation. The saddle shows heavy use.
