Named the American Champion 3-Year-Old Colt in 1972, Key to the Mint raced to victory at the Whitney Stakes that summer, earning this presentational plate which reads: "THE WHITNEY SARATOGA 1972 WON BY ROKEBY STABLES' KEY TO THE MINT RIDDEN BY BRAULIO BAEZA" surrounding a NYRA logo. Comes with a photo signed by Baeza. The race is named for the Whitney family, whose members have and remain prominent participants and supporters of the sport of Thoroughbred horse racing (ref.: The Whitney Museum, etc.).
