Large Canadian International Timeless Legend Collage from Charlie Davis' Personal Collection (LOA)

We are pleased to offer this wonderful racing collectible that should appeal to any Secretariat enthusiast, and especially those interested in his final career start in the Canadian International at Woodbine Park. This impressive piece, published in commemoration of the historic Oct. 28, 1973 race, emanates from the personal collection of Secretariat's famed exercise rider Charlie Davis and was one of his most prized possessions. His experiences in Canada with Secretariat and the Meadow Stable team continued to be one of Mr. Davis' fondest memories until his death in 2018. Secretariat's magnificent performance in front of more than 35,000 fans who showed up on that cold and windy day resulted in a commanding six-length victory in the 1 5/8 mile turf race. With the win, Secretariat notched his 16th victory in 21 starts in a glorious racing career that amassed $1,316,808 in total earnings, and made him a transcendent icon. The oversized print entitled “Secretariat: Timeless Legend” features a beautiful head portrait of Secretariat at its centerpiece, along with Secretariat's owner Penny Chenery and trainer Lucien Laurin, and 20 surrounding photos of Big Red (including four with Charlie) and his team captured during their visit to Canada. The imagery includes Secretariat's arrival at the Toronto track, his morning gallops and training in preparation for the race backstretch, training in the morning, winner’s circle celebration and much more. The print was presented to Mr. Davis as a gift and is hand-signed by both of the Meadow Stable's Hall of Fame jockeys -- Ron Turcotte and Eddie Maple. The framed print measures 31" x 43" in total and is accompanied by a Secretariat Archives certificate of authenticity.
