Large Collection of 1930's Brooklyn Dodgers Signed Players Contracts (25)
It's not often that one can take a close-up look at the contract of a professional athlete, but here are 24 such legal documents from the file cabinets of the Brooklyn Dodgers, circa 1931-36, with most being from 1934. Many are signed by National League president John Heydler and Dodgers president Sam McKeever. Some are stamped or secretarial, some of the later contracts are signed by Ford Frick, and nearly every one features a player signature. Some of the more notable names include Tony Cuccinello (2), Van Mungo (2), John Cooney, Lonnie Frey, Joe Stripp, Nap Rucker (scout), Otto Miller (coach), Fresco Thompson and Paul Richards. The conditions average VG-EX with typical mailing creases. The signatures are mostly 7/10 or better.
