Large Jackie Robinson Signature (PSA MINT 9)

Large Jackie Robinson Signature (PSA MINT 9)

Presented is the album page signature of Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson, an amazing baseball player who became one of the country's foremost civil rights pioneers, and whose importance in American history, as the player who broke baseball's "Color Line," is of immense significance. Robinson broke into the Major Leagues as a first baseman with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947, at 28 years old, an "old" rookie because of baseball's racial segregation before he broke new ground. In his rookie season, Robinson hit .297 and led the National League in stolen bases (29) and he became the NL Rookie of the Year as he helped Brooklyn to the NL pennant. Two seasons later, Robinson, at age 30, hit his peak. As a second baseman, he was the NL's MVP, and the Senior Circuit's batting champion (.342). He led the NL that season in stolen bases (37) and scored 122 runs and batted in 124. The autograph page measures approx. 4.5x5.5". The page exhibits some fading near the edges. Robinson signed the album page with blue ink from a ballpoint pen. The album page has been encapsulated and is PSA/DNA certified as AUTO GRADE MINT 9.
