Late 1940's Tommy Brown Game Worn Cap with Sewn In Hard Liners
Before the batting helmet, the Brooklyn Dodgers experimented with sewing hard liners inside their caps to protect the player's heads from errant pitches. Much of this was brought on by the opposing tensions towards Jackie Robinson. This Dodgers hat has hard plastic liners sewn inside the material on both sides. The Spalding tag is sewn onto the white leather band. "Buckshot", Brown's nickname, is written inside the band in pen. The hat brim has been signed by Brown in silver, which grades a 7/10. The hat shows fine use.
