Late 1970's Mike Flanagan Game Worn/Used Collection
An integral part of the overpowering Orioles rotation that took the Birds to the 1979 pennant. 1) Jersey dates from a season before the Orioles A.L. domination (and Flanagan's Cy Young Award-winning season). Orange pullover announces, "Orioles 46" in white and black on chest, with "Flanagan 46" on back. "Wilson [size] 42" tagging in collar. Black thread in tail embroiders, "78 1." Impressive use. 2) Cap is tagged in the sweaty headband "New Era [size] 7 1/8." Number "46" in marker under visor. "Mike Flanagan, Cy Young, 1979" in NRMT black sharpie under visor. 3) Glove is tagged from Japanese glove manufacturer "Mizuno," and name stitched on thumb is misspelled "Mike Frannagan" (no jokes please). Use is very strong. 4) Baseball inscribed, "Game Ball vs. Cleve., Sept 29, 1979, Mike Flanagan, Baltimore Orioles." This is probably his league-leading twenty-third and final win of the season. Use on the ball is very strong. A strong collection that's a bargain at several times the opening bid.
