Late 1970s Gord Lane Game Worn Washington Capitals Jersey

Late 1970s Gord Lane Game Worn Washington Capitals Jersey

From the 1974 NHL expansion, the Washington Capitals franchise was born and this vintage jersey is of the style worn in those early days. Donned by defenseman Gordie Lane circa late '70s, this road red game-worn classic has the original fight strap and shows heavy use with multiple stick marks and a team repair on back. The size tag has been removed from the neck but the sides are visible and the Maska manufacturer's name is embroidered on the bottom. His name LANE is sewn on a patch on the back, and his number 28 is in tackle twill lettering on back and shoulders. After starting his career with the expansion Caps, Lane went on to anchor the defense during the New York Islanders' dynasty years of the early 1980s.
