Late 19th Century Admission Tickets to Coney Island Jockey Club’s Racetrack For Special Events (8)

1. Entry to the Field Enclosure only (2): a. June 1886 any day). The June meet had only ten days but 2-yo sensation, Tremont, won an incredible 8 races! & b. September 7, 1886 # 5 – both jockeys McLaughlin (2) and Isaac Murphy won that day. 2. Restaurant Badges with coupons attached (3): a. June 29, 1890, #6 – 3 stakes races including the Knickebocker won by champion Firenzi with Isaac Murphy; b. July 2, 1890, #8 – 2 stakes, the Realization won by Tournament and the Double Event. Jockeys William Hayward and “Snapper” Garrison each won a race; c. June 29, 1891, # 12 – 2 stakes including the Great Trial Stakes won by His Highness, 2-yo champion that year. 3. Lady’s admission ticket (2): a. August 28, 1886, #1 – the Autumn Stakes won by Firenze; b. September 11, 1886, #7 – 3 stakes run. 4. Gateman’s Box Ticket (1): September 11, 1890, # 11 (for checking in carriages). All are in superb condition.
