Lester Patrick Cut Signature (PSA)

Lester Patrick Cut Signature (PSA)

Amazing vintage signature from the 1930s from Lester Patrick, known not only as the patriarch of his legendary hockey family, but considered by many to be the patriarch of the National Hockey League. Signature is in superb 8/10 blue fountain ink on a blue, cut autograph book page measuring approximately 5.75x2.5". It is inscribed, "To Frances, Best Wishes," with signature below. One of the "Originals" of the Original 6, Lester was the first ever General Manager/Coach of the New York Rangers, and is generally credited with helping define and popularize the sport to new audiences. To this day, the Lester Patrick Trophy is awarded annually to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the sport in the United States. He and his brother, Frank, are credited with several early innovations - including adding numbers to the back of uniforms; sons Lynn and Muzz were key cogs in the franchise's first three Stanley Cup victories; grandson Craig Patrick was assistant coach of 1980s USA "Miracle on Ice" team and went on to win a pair of Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA.
