Relief pitcher Lindy McDaniel won 141 major league games, and some of the baseballs used during those victories are up for bid here. Straight from Lindy's private collection, each of these 59 balls was used in games that he won for the Cardinals, his first team. And that makes for a near-complete set as the right-hander won 72 with St. Louis during his eight seasons there (1955-62). The detailed lettering was done by a Cardinals employee who decorated many balls this way for other pitchers and players. Among the notable balls is one from his first Major League victory on April 21, 1956 vs. the Braves. Each is an official National League baseball and all show good use. Also included in the lot is Lindy's plaque for being selected to the Cardinals' 25-Year All-Star Team in 1979 (measures 15" x 12"). During McDaniel's lengthy, 21-year career career, he witnessed approximately 3,500 major league games, had more than 300 teammates and played under eight different managers.
