Marilyn Monroe & Joe DiMaggio Autographed "Teahouse of the August Moon" Playbill

Marilyn Monroe & Joe DiMaggio Autographed "Teahouse of the August Moon" Playbill

A rare Marilyn Monroe & Joe DiMaggio autographed "Teahouse of the August Moon" Playbill (Week of Monday September 13, 1954; The Martin Beck Theatre, NYC.) The Marilyn Monroe signature is vertically situated in the upper right-hand corner of the Playbill and is boldly signed in blue ballpoint pen. Her signature measures 4" in length. The Joe DiMaggio signature is horizontally situated 1/2" away from the Playbill's spine on the far left, and is boldly signed in blue ballpoint pen as well. The DiMaggio signature measures 2-3/4" in length. The Playbill itself has a 6-1/4" horizontal even discoloration along the spine. The DiMaggio signature DOES NOT touch this discoloration in any way whatsoever. Since Marilyn Monroe & Joe DiMaggio were seldom found together in social circles during their marriage of 8 months and 13 days, the presumption is that this particular Playbill was signed by both Monroe & DiMaggio during a rare instance of being in a very public forum seeing "Teahouse of the August Moon," just two weeks before Marilyn filed for divorce from Joe on October 2, 1953. The condition of the Playbill itself rates at about an 8.0 to 8.5 on the grading scale. The DiMaggio signature rates at about a 9.25 on the grading scale. The Monroe signature rates at about a 9.5 on the grading scale.
