Mario Lemieux's 2001-02 Pittsburgh Penguins Game Worn Alternate Jersey
Striking black, white and gold Pittsburgh Penguins third uniform worn by team captain Mario Lemieux at the start of the 2001-02 NHL season. Mario's surname crosses the back shoulders above the historic double-sixes. The captain's "C" adorns the left breast and Lemieux has added a superb signature on the front crest. By Koho in size 56 with the added "66" in marker on the collar tag. Although the shirt exhibits light game use, there is no doubt that it was worn by one of the hockey's greatest stars. The accompanying Letter of Authenticity on Pittsburgh Penguins letterhead reads, in part, "Game used Penguins hockey sweater I wore during the home opener, October 3, 2001, vs. the Colorado Avalanche". Mario has signed his name at the bottom above the title "Mario Lemieux, Chief Executive Officer".
