Martin Luther King by Alfred Eisenstaedt

Martin Luther King by Alfred Eisenstaedt

Civil Rights champion Martin Luther King sits at his desk while speaking to the President of Zambia, Kenneth Kaunda, in this circa 1965 Alfred Eisenstaedt photograph. The 10x13.5" silver print is white-bordered to 11x14" and has a Life Magazine inventory sticker on the verso along with pencil notation and a stamp. Printed in the early 1990s. Extremely minor creasing on the white border edges but is otherwise NRMT. King rose to fame quickly as a stunning orator and supporter of human rights, but was assassinated in 1968 at the age of only 39. His death brought great mourning to the world and his birthday of January 15th was turned into a U.S. National Holiday.
