Maryland Million Legends Signed Saddlecloth

Maryland Million Legends Signed Saddlecloth

Although the specific year of this authentic Maryland Million saddlecloth is unclear, there is no question it was hand-signed by four of the most highly respected jockeys in the modern era of racing. The blue cotton cloth features the hand-signed autographs of Triple Crown winners Jean Cruguet (Seattle Slew, 1977) and Steve Cauthen (Affirmed, 1978), as well as Hall of Famers Pat Day, and Laffit Pincay Jr.

The full-sized twill cloth, containing the unusual number “3c” representing its bearer as part of a multi-horse entry, was autographed as part of a joint appearance promotional event during the festivities of the 2012 Maryland Million at Laurel Park. In aggregate, the four legendary jockeys account for victories in four Kentucky Derbies, seven Preakness Stakes, and eight Belmont Stakes, plus 13 Eclipse Awards, more than 23,000 career wins, and a staggering $636 million in total earnings. A collectible showpiece for any racing enthusiast.
