Michael Jordan Signed Birmingham Barons Jersey (UDA)

Michael Jordan Signed Birmingham Barons Jersey (UDA)

Unusual item. Not a Michael Jordan signed basketball jersey, but a Micheal Jordan signed BASEBALL jersey. In 1994, Michael Jordan "retired" from the NBA, and played minor league baseball, citing as his reason for switching sports the recent death of his father and the fact his father's favorite sport was baseball. He added that he felt he had nothing left to prove in the NBA after winning three NBA titles. He played baseball for the Birmingham Barons, the Southern League's Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Jordan, an outfielder, hit .202, drove in 51 runs, and added 30 stolen bases and three homers. After the baseball season, Jordan returned to the NBA and won three more titles. The jersey is UDA, Wilson, size 46, and is labeled 191/250. Jordan signed the jersey in black felt tipped marker, in neat script on the right front of the shirt. It is a home pinstriped jersey with black stripes, numbers, and lettering. It features Jordan's #45 on the front and back. Jersey is in Excellent condition.
