Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris Signed Photograph (JSA)
The M & M Boys look quite congenial in this signed photo from what appears to be a more tropical clime. Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris propelled the New York Yankees to two World Series titles in the early 1960s, and were known for their home-run hitting prowess. The "rivalry" between the two (though there was never any sort of animosity) took off in 1961, when the two sluggers hit home runs at a feverish pace for most of the year. Though Mantle was forced to bow out of the race, Maris went on to best Ruth's single-season mark of 60 by hitting 61 long balls - a number that was accompanied by an asterisk for the next three decades. The 8x10" color photo is NM, and has been signed by Mantle and Maris in gorgeous, 8/10 blue felt tip on their respective pants. Comes with JSA letter.
