Mickey Mantle Autographed Cooperstown Yankee Stadium Bat

Mickey Mantle Autographed Cooperstown Yankee Stadium Bat

"To play 18 years in Yankee Stadium is the best thing that could ever happen to a ballplayer," said Mickey Mantle. Displayed is a rare Cooperstown Bat Co. ceremonial bat (Stadium Series) that honors Yankee Stadium and is signed by Mantle. As the greatest switch-hitting power hitter in baseball history, Mantle hit 536 round-trippers, with most of his Yankee Stadium homers coming as a left-handed batter, often hit into the Stadium's short right-field "porch." Of course, at other times, Mantle's Yankee homers would have been homers in any ballpark in the Major Leagues. Mantle was a 3-time American League MVP, a Triple Crown winner, a 20-time All-Star and a member of seven New York Yankee World Champions. The bat has a length of 34" and a weight of 34 ounces. The bat has a two-color image of a vintage Yankee Stadium on the barrel, replete with 1920s cars. Also, on the barrel is printed: "Yankee Stadium/Home of the New York Yankees/Opening Day April 18, 1923/ ...." The House that Ruth Built has been the site of 84 World Series games and has seen many unforgettable records set, including Babe Ruth's 60 home run season in 1927, Roger Maris' 61st home run in 1961, and Don Larsen's perfect game in the 1956 World Series. The refurbished Yankee Stadium was rededicated in 1976. Mantle's beautifully scripted, big and bold signature was written in blue ink from a thin-tipped marker. Imprinted on the knob is "689," and the knob also has a "689," The knob also has a James Spence Authentication Sticker. The bat is in excellent condition, and it comes with a PSA Letter of Authentication.
