Mickey Mantle "Commerce Comet" Bronze Statue
Magnificent in its stature and detail, The pride of Oklahoma - Mickey Mantle - is depicted post-swing and gazing at another long ball in this high-quality bronze statue signed "N. Calcagaio." It is dated 1988 and features a marble base with a plaque that reads: "MICKEY MANTLE - COMMERCE COMET - NEW YORK YANKEES 1951-1968 - SOONER PRIDE COMMITTEE, COMMERCE OKLA." The statue is 10.5" tall and bears an exceptional likeness of Mantle. It is in NM-MT condition, with the bottom slab mounting a little loose on the base. The piece was sold to raise money for a larger Mantle statue that resides in the Hall of Famer's hometown of Commerce.
